Our beloved Barbara Ann Wiggins passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in San Bernardino, California, at the age of 85. Born on February 22, 1940, in Opelika Rural-Pepperell, Alabama, Barbara was the daughter of Love Williams and Ida Nell Williams. From her earliest days, she carried a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a love that extended to everyone she met.
Barbara’s life was rich with family, laughter, and deep faith. She grew up surrounded by Georgia Jackson (Big Mama) who shared her joys and her challenges — Willie James (Sonny), and Miriam Edward’s and Margie P. Hall She was the kind of sister who kept the family connected, who remembered every birthday, and who never let anyone leave her home hungry.
In time, Barbara met and married Theodore Wiggins, the love of her life. Together they raised a beautiful family built on hard work, faith, and unconditional love. Their union was blessed with six children — Theodore R Wiggins Senior., Sharon R Whitley, Donald J Wiggins, Carla R Toney, Michael Wiggins, and Bryant J Wiggins. Leaving behind 2 sisters, Margie P Hall and Mirion Edward’s who completed the circle of her heart.
Barbara had a gift for making a house feel like home. Her cooking filled kitchens with warmth, her laughter lifted spirits, and her gentle wisdom guided her children and grandchildren through life’s ups and downs. Whether she was in Alabama, Illinois, or later California, her door was always open, and her love never wavered.
Life brought Barbara both joy and loss, but she met it all with faith and grace. She endured the passing of her father, Love, in 1973; her son Michael, in 2000; her brother Willie James, in 2014; her devoted husband Theodore, in 2018; and her son Donald Jamal, in 2021. Through every trial, Barbara’s faith remained steadfast — a living example of resilience, prayer, and unconditional love.
To know Barbara was to know kindness. She gave selflessly, loved deeply, and forgave easily. She leaves behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless loved ones who will carry her memory forward. Her spirit will forever live in the meals shared, the family stories told, and the lessons she quietly taught by example.
Though she is gone from our sight, her love will always remain. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her, resting in eternal peace and surrounded by God’s light.
